My name is San and I’m an unemployed computer engineer that should have gone into pharmaceuticals or something useful. I’m 28 years old and I was diagnosed with depression at the age of 14, and bipolar disorder at the age of 17.
I’m a huge computer geek and I like to program, do graphics design, edit photos and more. I live with my boyfriend in Ontario, Canada, with 2 cats (Freya and Izzledur) and my guinea pig, Skrinkle.
I used to be a competitive horseback rider. Riding was my life. Then I broke my arm in 2 places, the humerus (which really isn’t funny) and shattered my shoulder. I have to have surgery and physio and I can’t do a lot of what I used to do, horseback riding included, because it’s way too easy to get hurt again.
I volunteer at a local Humane Society, a no-kill shelter. I love animals.
I’m eccentric and anxious. I will shave my head on a whim. Everything makes me anxious. I won’t get on a plane, but I was on the Dragster at Cedar Point in Ohio the year it opened. Over and over again, with my rollercoaster loving mom. I’m covered in tattoos and I have a couple of piercings (earlobes, not stretched, medusa, lower lip x 2) and some extreme body mods, like a split tongue and elf ears.
On Wednesday nights you’ll find me playing Pathfinder (like D&D) as a Fighter Elf Queen. I collect interesting dice.
I’m taking some time off of college and work to keep my sanity in check.
I like to write. I find it great when people read what I’ve written and comment on it, it makes me happy. I read mostly non-fiction and I hate poetry.
I had 6 rounds of ECT when I was 23, and it saved me, literally. I haven’t been hospitalized since 2008.
I have bipolar disorder 1 rapid cycle, schizotypal personality disorder, pure O-OCD and diabetes insipidus.
I take Depakote, Abilify, Xanax, and Luvox for the mental stuff. I take Mirapex for side effects, HCTZ for the diabetes insipidus (“water diabetes” a rare condition caused by Lithium in very few people) and get monthly vitamin B12 shots.
I can’t think of anything else to add. I’m really not that interesting. Oh, I knit and cross stitch geeky and/or offensive stuff. It keeps me out of trouble. Sorta.
Hi San! Thanks for following. If you enjoy reading, perhaps you might want to read my fictional story (more like a memoir of sorts) about a character who is bipolar? I am currently looking for feedback to make it the best it can be. Please email me if you are interested. amyjq@comcast.net.
Thanks Again!

I m bipolar too went off my med for nine months taking Truehope it works but you have to take every day plus other supplements as well.
I wrote an article on Truehope and my horrible experience with it. I did everything the “professionals” told me to do, which included not telling my doctors, including my GP, anything. Sounds… smart? Right?
They were involved in a few lawsuits and legal issues:

I really need to stick a “this is mostly a ‘based-on-experience’ with ‘opinion’ and ‘research'” warning on my blog because people get so butthurt.
Truehope, if you read the ingredients, is just a massive multivitamin.
